Who We Are
In the top lefthand corner of this page, next to the church name, you can see a small image from our church. It was taken on a particularly beautiful day, when the Cherry Tree in our yard was in bloom and the cross from our rooftop stood out against a blue sky. In its own way, this subtle yet striking image is a hint about our congregation. It says that if you take the time to see us you will notice some special, beautiful things. We are not the kind of church that will blow you away with bells and whistles or knock you over with spectacular theatrics. But if you take a little time and pay attention, you will see the gracious and beautiful ways in which God blesses our congregational life.
We are a diverse group of people who have experienced the good news of God's love in our lives. Since 1956, we have been a visible presence in the Twinbrook neighborhood. A number of our members are long time residents who look forward to meeting and learning about new people in our area. Newer members have come from other places (even other nations) and have found a home here.
We take pride in reflecting the diversity of our community. We seek to combine formal and informal elements of worship while being true to the freedom of our Baptist heritage. We welcome and affirm the gifts of all God's people, seeking to be as all-inclusive as God's universal love.
So feel free to look around this site. You will find various statements and pictures reflecting moments of our church life and the unique people which embody it. Be sure to check out the videos in the Worship and Music section, as well as the pastor's regular comments in the Pastor's Blog.
