Worship

Picture
Worship at Twinbrook Baptist begins at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.  The service is filled with traditional hymns, a time of greeting, readings from the Bible, choral music, a time of sharing our prayer concerns, prayer and thought-provoking sermons.  The service usually ends at 12:15 p.m.    Children are welcome in the service and are invited to participate in the "children's sermon" .   Childcare is provided for families who appreciate that service.  Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome to partake in this meaningful ritual.   We observe the liturgical church calendar and have special services for Advent, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Easter.

Although our worship is "traditional" , our community is anything but.  Many of our members have come from different faith traditions, different nations, different philosophical leanings.   We do not try to coerce anyone into carbon copies, but we respect our differences and see them as strengths.  As we interact with each other, we all grow deeper and stronger and more open to the love of Christ in the world.

Music

Music is a valuable part of our church experience.  The choir sings in church  each Sunday  providing beauty and leadership to our worship services. The children's Bible Study hour includes a time of singing.  Many church members provide special music through solos and small groups.  Our handbell ensemble provides music for special services including Christmas and Easter.  Any teenagers and adults are welcome to join our musical groups.  The only requirement for becoming a part of these ministries is the love of music!

Choir Practice:  Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
